Feature list

- Visual marking of mismatch (best effort) (If the input string doesn't match the regular expression or part of it) (Optional)
The largest non overlapping part(s) of the input string that matches non overlapping part(s) of the regular expression
- "Debug" if the selected part of string matches (including capture groups) the selected part of regular expression with color feedback and instant update
- Copy groups or matches in various formats to the clipboard
- Bracket matching (Optional)
- Java constant string encode and decode ("\\n" <-> "\n")
- Automatic Java constant string decode on paste (Optional)
- Named capture groups with instant update
- Regular expression flags with instant update
Note: This tool uses the Java non default regular expression flags Pattern.MULTILINE and Pattern.DOTALL as default, because these flags makes the '.', '^' and '$' work as expected. The flags can be changed as stated above. The Java default is without any flags.
For a tool solving the same task in a completely different way: See the RegexBuddy tool.
Note: It is not free and it only runs on Windows. (I am not affiliated in any way).
For free online tools see Regular expression 101, regexr.com and Tester Regex.
And again: I am not affiliated in any way with any of them.
